Cheree Love, President
Hello, my name is Cheree Love and I am the president of Response 1 Medical Staffing.
In 2002 I decided to start a staffing company that is based on Christian values, honesty and integrity. My goal is to provide a higher level of nurses and take care of them the way they deserve to be taken care of so that in turn they can give the very best care to their patients. For the first two years I worked from home with very little capital, but with God’s help, determination, a couple of excellent nurses, and a select group of hospitals we quickly became one of the fastest growing businesses in California. Today I am blessed with a dedicated staff and an excellent group of nurses. From the bottom of my heart, I cannot thank them enough for their strong work ethics, knowledge, devotion, and loyalty.
I have two beautiful daughters Tarah (21) and Jessie (19) who are the most treasured blessings in my life and I am proud to say the have grown into incredible, driven women. Tarah is on her way to becoming a nurse. She also works at Response 1 and is a great asset to the team. Jessie is aspiring to make a name for herself in the fashion and cosmetic industry. She is an avid snowboarder and teaches boarding to children. I have a very spoiled Cocker Spaniel and an equally spoiled English Bull dog that bring a lot of joy into my life.
I proudly am a member of the Board of Directors for the American Heart and Stroke Association. I am an advocate for women with Heart Disease and Stroke and feel I am making a difference by donating time and money to further research for many charitable causes. Giving back to the community is something I feel very passionate about. I also enjoy, church, golfing, skiing, boxing, boating, and hanging out with my children, puppies, nurses, staff, and friends. LaJuan Knorr, Chief Financial Officer
Hello, my name is LaJuan Knorr. I consider myself very lucky to be part of the Response 1 Medical Staffing team. My job title at R1MS is Chief Financial Officer.
I was first introduced to R1MS as they were generous sponsors of mine while I was working as Senior Corporate Director in the non-profit world fundraising for the American Heart Association. I have worked closely with the Medical Industry fundraising as well as having a strong background in Sales/Marketing, Finance and Operations. I am proud to have the opportunity to work and partner with such devoted nurses and R1MS staff. This has been a tremendous opportunity to combine my skills using my finance background along with my sales/marketing experience. It is very rewarding to work once again with my corporate sponsors from the non-profit world in a new venue championing our medical professionals.
On a personal note, at home I enjoy interior design, entertaining, and spending time with family. I am a passionate animal lover, and am fortunate to have worked in a Veterinary Clinic for many years. I have three Yorkshire Terriers; Sophie Lorin (1 yr.), Gracee Madonna (10 yrs.), and Isabella Lorin (1 1/2 yrs old). My husband Dale is very active in the 4-wheeling community and enjoys the outdoors. I am very blessed to have my family close to us in the Sacramento area.
Michelle Hoepermans, Director of Recruiting
Howdy!! My name is Michelle Hoepermans and I am honored to be the Director of Recruiting for Response 1 Medical Staffing. Since joining the organization in March of 2004, I have seen our family triple in size yet we have been so fortunate to maintain the closeness and the integrity with which we started. We have been blessed with a great group of hard working, dedicated nurses and I am so proud to represent them to our client partners.
As a native Texan, I started my recruiting career in Dallas 14 years ago and, after spending over 4 years in Chicago, I found my way to the Sacramento area. Before joining R1MS, I worked for a large travel nurse company and soon found myself, as well as the nurses I represented, getting lost in the shuffle. It was at that point that I contacted Cheree to explore new opportunities and I have been at home ever since.
In my spare time, I love hanging out with my Malte-Poo (yes, she is a real dog, not a stuffed animal) Bailey who is an absolute treat! I am also an avid shopper - just ask my credit card companies - and I enjoy working out. I have been known to box an occasional round with a heavy bag, but I am not sure who usually wins that match; it's probably the heavy bag.
Jeffrey Jones, Account Manager
I am Jeff Jones and I am honored to embrace the title of Response 1's Sales Manager of hospital accounts.
With an amassed 15 year history of senior-level experience in the medical industry, my incessant "niche" continues to be functioning as a direct liaison with hospital associations, and developing strategies that lead to solutions. The culture here at Response 1 is one which is congruent with my philosophies of strong ethics and professionalism, and I am always enthusiastic to make contributions to our growth by placing high-level nursing professionals within any of our numerous hospitals.
Insofar as my personal enjoyment and "fun things" are concerned, I enjoy music and the percussive arts; so much so that one might find me occasionally performing, teaching or recording the drums. I also enjoy running and any opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends.
Michele Laing, Sr. Resource Manager/Housing Coordinator
Hello. My name is Michele Laing and I am excited to join the Response 1 team as a Sr. Resource Manager / Housing Coordinator.
I graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Facilities Management and have 15+ years of experience in the Facilities Management industry. I have held multiple positions at Fortune 500 companies as a Project Manager, Space Planner, Planning Manager, Real Estate Manager, and Design & Construction Manager. I am excited to use the management skills I have learned while in facilities and successful apply them to my new endeavor in the Healthcare Staffing Industry. I love working with people and look forward to helping our nurses exceed their goals and live their dreams.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my three beautiful children (ages 3, 5 & 7) and my wonderful husband. Our family loves to spend time together in the outdoors; swimming, hiking, bike riding, camping, or skiing. I am also an avid runner and have completed seven ½ marathons, one full marathon, & one ultra- marathon.

Sandy Bundock, Office Manager
My name is Sandy Bundock and I am very excited to officially become a part of the Response 1 Family. Having worked with Response 1 Medical Staffing through our business partner, Helm Technical Services, for the last two years, this transition is one that I am thrilled to make.
As Project Coordinator, my responsibilities will vary as needed. However, I will be primarily responsible for organizing the new division of Response 1: our housing department. In addition, I will be working with Cheree, as well as the rest of the team, to coordinate medical testing, travel arrangements, or other items that our nurses might require, and acting as a backup resource for our payroll team.
I enjoy spending my 'free time' with my husband, two wonderful children and our menagerie of pets including our new puppy Meeka and our other dog Ross. I look forward to working with you all and the many exciting times ahead.
Tarah Prangley, Project Coordinator - Registry
Hi there! I am so excited to be an official member of Response 1 Medical Staffing. Cheree Love is my mother, so I have had the great pleasure of watching her build this incredible company from the ground up. I guess you could say I’ve been a member all along! I am currently en route to becoming a Nurse myself, and having the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the travel industry will be awesome preparation. My future goal is to continue working for Response 1, and utilize my experience as an RN to enhance the company. I hope to work in the office as well as be one of Response 1’s travelers! Witnessing the growth of Response 1 and learning about nursing has allowed me to gain an immense amount of admiration for the profession and all that it entails. It was my original inspiration! And seeing all the hard working, loyal individuals that are the nurses for Response 1 has inspired me to want to help you from my current angle! I am excited to be taking your phone calls and helping you in any way I can. I will be assisting all your recruiters, account managers, and payroll executives also! I look forward to helping you get any extra desired registry shifts and assisting the units in need.
On a personal note, I am still a student, currently attempting to conquer the last of my prerequisites before applying to nursing school. I played soccer for my college, and I am an extreme outdoors lover! I have been outside either playing sports, camping, fishing, playing or adventuring since I can remember! I have an incredible, supportive family that remind me of how blessed I am every day.
Maria Dominguez, Sr. Resource Manager
Hola, my name is Maria Dominguez and I am very excited to be a part of the Response 1 Medical Staffing team. It was by a divine appointment that I met Cheree and LaJuan and I was so impressed with the foundation that Response 1 was built: Christian values, honesty and integrity, that I jumped right on board. And, I haven’t looked back since.
I have over ten years of recruitment experience with 2 plus years specializing in Healthcare/Nursing focusing on per diem, travel and permanent opportunities. I enjoy working with our Nurses and helping them realize their dreams of traveling while working or making extra money.
I am very active in my community through ministry outreaches from San Francisco to Sacramento and, in my spare time, I love spending time with my family (including my little love bug – Rockie, my silky terrier) and friends. My favorite past times are wine tasting, going to the spa, reading, traveling, and dancing to live music.

Lisa Hoard, Project Manager
Aloha, my name is Lisa Hoard. I’m very excited to be the Project Manager at Response 1 Medical Staffing. I have been with this company for over 2 ½ years now, and enjoy working with this team and nurses.
I have over 20 years of administrative office and managerial experience. I help the recruiters with all their staffing needs, provide support to the recruiters and payroll department, run backgrounds, set-up nurse testing, medical testing and help with quality control. In my leisure time I like to go bike riding, swimming and walking. I have 5 children and have been married to my husband Brian for over 8 years now. We also love to go to The Rock Church in Elk Grove. My children and my family are a very important part of my life
